Mr. Ramesh Nambiar

Ramesh Nambiar completed his school education with Irish Brothers at St Edmunds in Shillong and went on to , graduate from Nizam College, Hyderabad. He acquired Masters and M Phil from School of International Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi where his dissertation topic was "Water as an element in the politics of the sub-continent". While at JNU Ramesh worked on a few prestigious research projects including “Hydrological study of Alwar District in the State of Rajasthan", which was done in collaboration with Hiroshima University, Japan, and "Desertification of Arid Lands", with CAZRI, Jodhpur.

His varied research portfolio also includes deriving data structures in tribal districts of East and West Siang in the State of Arunachal Pradesh for the School of Planning & Architecture , New Delhi on a NIC project, Planning Commission, Government of India.

Ramesh's education in School of International Studies didn't deter him from pursuing his passion - wildlife, adventure sports and tourism. He started his professional career with the Tiger Mountain -- the wildlife professionals who are renowned in Himalayan trekking. Ramesh helped to organize over 250 trips in India , Nepal , Bhutan , Tibet and Sri Lanka. Through his illustrious career in the tourism industry, he has gained fluency in several Indian languages and in French having spent considerable time in Francophone countries and the Reunion islands. After being employed in the industry, Ramesh established a complete Destination Management Company – Oasis Excursions - which he is managing as CEO.

Oasis has created a niche in ‘special interest & experiential travel’ in the Indian sub-continent with an emphasis on history and culture. Passion and enthusiasm for the Himalayas and wildlife have been the driving force behind Oasis’s success. Ramesh has expanded the scope of tourism by including exclusive Indian systems like yoga , meditation , ayurveda and spa services for those with special needs. Ramesh has provided a human face to his business by partnering with Wheelchair Travel Club from South Africa and Guide Dogs from UK. He has worked with Scott Chesney , a global spokesperson for the disabled and has participated in "Rehab Dubai" aimed at creating infra-structural facilities for the disabled, promotion of tourism for the disabled and ensuring advocacy for the cause of the disabled through the media. During the 25 years in this business, Ramesh has travelled to almost every district of India and to over 40 countries.

True to his entrepreneurial spirit, he has ventured into diverse organizational services such as event management (meetings, exhibitions, entertainment etc.), liaison services with the Government of India, logistics and hospitality services, particularly for media related work (films, documentary production) and providing , assistance for to overseas companies to set up offices in India. He brings in 25 years of valuable hospitality and tourism experience to Uniworld.
